Discover the buildings magnificent history, ornate art, classical architecture and function as the seat of the state's government. During the legislative session, tours focus on the democratic process and legislative structure.
You are also welcome to tour the Capitol on your own. Self-guided tour booklets are available at the information desk on the first floor of the Capitol. One booklet per group. Please do not litter or waste-- return used booklets in good condition to the tour desk.

Explore this Queen Anne-Style mansion that was home to Montana's governors from 1913-1959. The guided tour is a splendid opportunity for visitors to experience the material culture and social history of the residence of Governor Stewart and his family, 1913-1921. Children's tours are highlighted with mischievous stories of the young Stewart girls, Emily, Marjorie, and Leah. Tour groups are limited to twenty people.
